Gledswood Hills Project
Sheer Curtains, Roller Blinds & Outdoor Zipscreens for a Custom Hamptons Inspired Home
This beautifully considered home in Gledswood Hills was custom designed with a refined Hamptons-inspired aesthetic, combining classic architectural details with a fresh, contemporary feel.
The window furnishings were designed to complement the home's style while keeping the overall look clean and understated. A combination of custom sheer curtains, layered bedroom window furnishings and motorised outdoor Zipscreens was used throughout the property.
What We Installed
-
Throughout the main living areas, custom sheer curtains in fabric by Nettex Australia were selected to bring softness and texture to the home's interiors.
The sheers allow natural light to filter through the living spaces while providing privacy and creating a relaxed, elegant finish that works naturally with the Hamptons-inspired design.
A key consideration for the project was keeping the curtain installation as visually clean as possible.
-
The homeowners wanted the curtains to have a beautifully finished appearance without visible brackets or unnecessary hardware interrupting the clean lines of the interiors.
To achieve this, custom round black curtain tracks were ceiling mounted throughout the home.
This concealed approach keeps the focus on the curtains themselves and creates a streamlined transition from the ceiling to the window treatment.
The black track also adds a subtle architectural detail, complementing other black elements throughout the home while providing a contemporary contrast against the lighter Hamptons-inspired interiors.
-
In the bedrooms, roller blinds were installed behind sheer curtains, creating a practical layered window furnishing solution.
The roller blinds provide additional privacy and light control when required, while the sheer curtains soften the overall appearance of the windows and maintain the home's cohesive aesthetic.
The combination allows the homeowners to control the amount of natural light throughout the day while creating a softer, more finished look within the bedrooms.
-
Plantation shutters were also installed in the home's bathrooms, providing a practical window furnishing solution that suits the demands of wet areas.
For these spaces, PVC plantation shutters are particularly well suited. PVC is moisture resistant and designed to withstand the humidity and moisture commonly found in bathrooms, making it a practical alternative to timber in wet areas.
The clean lines of the plantation shutters complement the Hamptons-inspired styling of the home while providing adjustable privacy, light control and ventilation.
Using plantation shutters in the bathrooms also maintains a consistent design language throughout the home, with the classic shutter profile working naturally alongside the home's other window furnishings.
